Dream analysis is the art of interpreting the symbolic language of the unconscious. Across cultures and throughout history, dreams have been regarded as messages that reveal hidden emotions, unresolved conflicts, spiritual insights, or glimpses of future possibilities. Rather than viewing dreams as random neurological activity, I approach them as meaningful narratives that deserve careful reflection.
My own approach integrates traditional dream analysis with the symbolic framework of Vedic Astrology (Jyotish). Just as planets represent enduring archetypal forces within the birth chart, they also appear in dreams through symbols, people, animals, colours, landscapes, and recurring themes. A dream of climbing a mountain, for example, may reflect Saturn’s lessons of perseverance and discipline, while dreams involving oceans, mothers, or silver light may resonate with the Moon’s influence over the mind and emotions. Fiery images may point toward Mars, beautiful gardens toward Venus, or wise teachers toward Jupiter. Understanding these planetary correspondences adds another layer of meaning beyond conventional psychological interpretation.
Dreams should never be interpreted in isolation. The dreamer’s life circumstances, emotional state, planetary periods (dashas), and significant astrological transits all provide valuable context. When these factors are considered together, dreams often become remarkably coherent, offering guidance that aligns with both inner psychological development and the soul’s karmic journey.
Ultimately, dream analysis is not about predicting the future with certainty. It is about increasing self-awareness. By learning to recognize the symbolic language of our dreams—and understanding how it reflects both the unconscious mind and the planetary forces described in Vedic Astrology—we gain a deeper appreciation of ourselves and the path we are meant to follow.
